  27.    I've talked with numerous technicians at various hard drive manufacturers  
  28.    what I've been told is this: 
  29.     Low level formating IDE drives can be done safely to 90% of all IDE hard  
  30.     disks.  Kalok actually recommends low level formatting kalok drives about  
  31.     once per year or so.  Most other hard disk manufacturers recommend that you 
  32.     check with their tech support before doing it as design changes are made 
  33.     after documentation is printed and therefore may not be completely up todate.
