- I've talked with numerous technicians at various hard drive manufacturers
- what I've been told is this:
- Low level formating IDE drives can be done safely to 90% of all IDE hard
- disks. Kalok actually recommends low level formatting kalok drives about
- once per year or so. Most other hard disk manufacturers recommend that you
- check with their tech support before doing it as design changes are made
- after documentation is printed and therefore may not be completely up todate.
