- Hi folks. I tried installing the images of the 0.97p2 boot/util/
- gcc/misc onto my 33mhz 120meg hd, and everything worked like
- a charm. Easy and simple. I hope future distributions get
- done this way - it allows people who are new to unix (like me)
- to install easily.
-
- But I think there is a problem with the gcc 2.2.2d images.
- They installed without a problem but now when I try to run several
- progras, I'm getting weird errors.
- For example, with uemacs:
- When I type emacs, it reponds
- "This terminal doesn't have enough power to run microEmacs!"
-
- WHAT? I have 8 megabytes!
-
- For the shared library version of GNU Emacs:
- "Can't find /lib/libc.2.2.2"
- I tried linking the /lib/libc.so.2.2 hoping that
- the name might have been changed with future releases.
- And now I get a core dump.
-
- For tcsh.a (from tsx-11)
- I type "make"
- "tcsh.a(sh.o): Undefined symbol _setjmp referenced from text segment
- .
- .
- . [More of the same errors except for different .o files]
- .
- "tcsh.a(ed.inputl.o): Undefined symbol _setjmp referenced from ..."
-
- So can anyone tell me the scoop of my problem?
-
- Thanks in advance.
