  11. Hi folks.  I tried installing the images of the 0.97p2 boot/util/
  12. gcc/misc onto my 33mhz 120meg hd, and everything worked like
  13. a charm.  Easy and simple.  I hope future distributions get
  14. done this way - it allows people who are new to unix (like me)
  15. to install easily.

  17. But I think there is a problem with the gcc 2.2.2d images.
  18. They installed without a problem but now when I try to run several
  19. progras, I'm getting weird errors.
  20. For example, with uemacs:
  21. When I type emacs, it reponds
  22. "This terminal doesn't have enough power to run microEmacs!"
  23.  
  24. WHAT?   I have 8 megabytes!

  26. For the shared library version of GNU Emacs:
  27. "Can't find /lib/libc.2.2.2"
  28. I tried linking the /lib/libc.so.2.2  hoping that
  29. the name might have been changed with future releases.
  30. And now I get a core dump.

  32. For tcsh.a (from tsx-11)
  33. I type "make"
  34. "tcsh.a(sh.o): Undefined symbol _setjmp referenced from text segment
  35. .

  37. .    [More of the same errors except for different .o files]

  39. "tcsh.a(ed.inputl.o): Undefined symbol _setjmp referenced from ..."

  41. So can anyone tell me the scoop of my problem?
