  12. -486/50Mhz (DX2)
  13. -8 MB RAM (Goldstar 70ns SIMMs)
  14. -Trident 8900c or CVGA1024 (Western Digital chip set)
  15. -Morse VGAPlus SVGA-monitor
  16. -Toshiba 105MB ATID
  17. -Quantum 240MB ATID
  18. -3.5" HD floppy drive
  19. -SoundBlaster 1.0

  21. The problem is that compiling (make all) Linux 0.97pl5 source (from
  22. nic.funet.fi) takes about 25 minutes! Isn't this much too slow for
  23. 486/50?!? I have tried this both under pl2 and pl5, compiler was GCC 2.2.2d.

  25. Could this be some kind of hardware incompatibility problem? My box used to
  26. be 386/25, until I bought this 486/50 motherboard. I think there could be
  27. something wrong with my HDD/FDD controller, because it's rather old and
  28. sometimes I get 'HDD control failure' (or something like that..) after
  29. memory check.
