- Ten minutes ago I had success !!
- I now have a working XTerminal :-)
-
- How ?
-
- 1. Linux 0.97pl4 with TCP/IP 0.8.0
- 2. X20 (prerelease; X1.1 should do, but I haven't tested)
- 3. X11d from nic.funet.fi /pub/OS/Linux/xtra/net (or something like that)
- 4. (in a virt con) xinit xterm
- 5. (in the xterm) telnet host
- 6. (on the remote host) export DISPLAY=linuxbox:0
-
- Now you can start a window manager, xterms, ... on the remote host and have a
- working XTerminal.
-
- Great job, folks.
-
- I think the FAQ of comp.windows.x has to be changed in regard to having a
- FREE XTerminal Software for PCs... :-)
