- A few months ago I had Linux 0.96c installed on my 386-25. I had a 40 meg
- partition for Linux and an 8 meg partition for swapping. I have since then
- removed Linux and used the space for more needed projects, but I would love
- to hear briefly how the sucker is getting along.
-
- To help whoever replies to this out:
-
- 1. Is there a nice comm program for it yet with szrz ?
- 2. Is X running better (ack, I remember that dang clock.exe program and
- all of those settings for my monitor and card. ewwww)
- 3. Has someone made a GIF viewer yet?
- 4. How's the TCP/IP coming ?
-
- Out of curiosity, how well does stuff written for unix compile over on
- Linux? Is it a major hassle for non-graphics apps?
-
- One more thing, I still only use DOS because of Windows apps that I do work
- in such as CorelDraw and Word 2.0. I would REALLY like to be able to
- convert my work to something on a unix platform (for very little cost) and
- start using a unix OS completely. Does anyone have any suggestions?
- What about 386BSD ?
-
- Thanks for your time!
