- I am trying different partition scheme and installing gcc 2.2.2d .
- First question is :
- 1. Can I have both C: (primary DOS partition) and D: (DOS extended)
- partition and at the same time have root, usr, swap partition
- for LINUX. Seems to me that only 4 partition are allowed and
- the fifth one /dev/hda5 is image of /hda2 (my D: drive). There
- is one "extended" entry in "fdisk", but Why I can't use it?
- How can I initialize a LINUX extended partition so I don't have
- the 14 char. limit. BTW, I have 0.97 boot and 0.97.1 root, and
- LINUX-0.97.4.tar.Z (new stuff).
- The second question is:
-
-
- 2. Can I use linux-0.97.4 source file when I install gcc 2.2.2d
- since originally the linux-0.97.1 source (or linux-0.97pl1 source)
- is required. If the answer is yes, do I need a 0.97pl4inc.tar.Z
- since the installation asking for 0.97pl1inc but my kernel is
- 0.97.4.
-
- 3. The gcc 2.2.2d is quite big and files are all over the place.
- Is there any one tell me what stuff I can delete if I have no
- imediate plan to use c++ since my hard drive space is quite
- tight.
-
- Thanks advanced !
