- now that I'm the proud owner of a 14.4 modem
- (Digicom ScoutPlus) that absolutely screams
- under DOS, I want to get that puppy equally
- screaming under linux.
-
- Since it has a 16550A in it, do I have to
- do anything to use the added capabilities
- of the chip to get the rate up (I run a
- FOSSIL driver under DOS and the 'Waffle'
- software uses that if present)?
-
- also, I can set the registers on the fly
- easily enough for dial out, but should I
- be messing with the sio port too?
-
- how 'bout dial-in. If I'm running getty_ps
- (I plan to) for dialin/dialout, what should
- I lock the port at (or shouldn't I at all)?
