  10. now that I'm the proud owner of a 14.4 modem
  11. (Digicom ScoutPlus) that absolutely screams
  12. under DOS, I want to get that puppy equally
  13. screaming under linux.

  15. Since it has a 16550A in it, do I have to
  16. do anything to use the added capabilities
  17. of the chip to get the rate up (I run a 
  18. FOSSIL driver under DOS and the 'Waffle'
  19. software uses that if present)?

  21. also, I can set the registers on the fly
  22. easily enough for dial out, but should I
  23. be messing with the sio port too?

  25. how 'bout dial-in.  If I'm running getty_ps
  26. (I plan to) for dialin/dialout, what should
  27. I lock the port at (or shouldn't I at all)?
