  13. I'm having trouble with Linux freezing after the 'sock_init:...' message.

  15. I installed from SLS without problems (disks 1-10), and rebooted from the
  16. boot disk that the install process created, and everything was working
  17. just fine.  Then I realized that I had made filesystems that were too
  18. big for the partitions that they were in (oops!!!) and decided to just
  19. reboot with disk #1 of the SLS, remake the filesystems with the correct
  20. sizes, and reinstall.

  22. That's when things started freezing, and I've tried booting from disk #1
  23. of the SLS and a 0.97 boot disk (both freshly created), and both hang at
  24. the same point.  I can't imagine what could have changed, but I'd sure
  25. like to correct it and get Linux (re)installed.

  29. The system is a 20MHz 386 with 9M, and a 330M Maxtor drive on an UltraStor
  30. (Ultra 12F24) controller.  (There's an Ethernet card in there too, but 
  31. Linux should ignore that (SHOULDN'T IT?).)  I've partitioned the drive
  32. into 220M for DOS, and two ~55M partitions for Linux.
