  16. Yesterday I installed my new HD (234MB!!!!), and thought I could now
  17. re-install Linux from the SLS disks. I didn't come very far, though.
  18.  
  19. Somewhere during the "Loading RAM-disk ...." the system hangs.
  20. I have installed Linux before, using the MJ-package without any (real)
  21. problems. Although I didn't use this installation very heavily, it
  22. seemed to work without problems.

  24. Does anyone have an idea about what might be wrong? I could use the MJ-
  25. stuff again, and use the SLS-disks 3-15 to complete the system, but I
  26. would rather be able to install from SLS only.

  36. By the way, can anybody tell me what 'write precompensation' is. It is one
  37. of the fields I have to fill in in the HD set-up of the CMOS.
