- Hello all,
-
- Yesterday I installed my new HD (234MB!!!!), and thought I could now
- re-install Linux from the SLS disks. I didn't come very far, though.
-
- Somewhere during the "Loading RAM-disk ...." the system hangs.
- I have installed Linux before, using the MJ-package without any (real)
- problems. Although I didn't use this installation very heavily, it
- seemed to work without problems.
-
- Does anyone have an idea about what might be wrong? I could use the MJ-
- stuff again, and use the SLS-disks 3-15 to complete the system, but I
- would rather be able to install from SLS only.
-
- System information:
- no-name 33MHz 386; Cache chip set
- AMI bios
- 4MB
-
- Thanks,
- Rob Hegt
-
- By the way, can anybody tell me what 'write precompensation' is. It is one
- of the fields I have to fill in in the HD set-up of the CMOS.
