  15. I am running a vanilla SysV machine, and I'm looking for a back end for
  16. sendmail.  This should be able to add local mail to mailboxes.

  18. You see, I have this "pseudo-hack" that I'm using now, but there are
  19. problems with the MUA called MUSH.  Whenever I am using mush, and mail
  20. comes in, there's a 50/50 chance I get the following messages:

  22. Unable to lock "/usr/spool/mail/jeffrey": Permission denied
  23. Unable to open /usr/spool/mail/jeffrey: Permission denied
  24. Can't load new mail: "/usr/spool/mail/jeffrey" may be corrupted!

  26. I have no option at this choice but to abort mush and lose the changes
  27. I have made to my mailbox.  This gets very frustrating :-(

  29. The decision I have made is not to bother fixing the hack, but to get
  30. a different program to do the mail slam-dunk.  It only needs to be
  31. called by sendmail.  If it has /bin/mail crude functionality, I can
  32. live with it.  Biff support is not necessary.

  34. My request - any suggestions on the best one to use?  We use mush and
  35. mailx as MUAs and sendmail as the MTA.  I'd prefer something free (and
  36. FTPable), but will listen to all suggestions.
