  12. I'm teaching the undergraduate survey of programming languages
  13. course this semester and would like to spend one 75 minute lecture
  14. on Modula 2.

  16. Do you have any suggestions on what I should emphasize to give
  17. my students an accurate impression of the language?

  19. By way of background: because of recent changes in
  20. our curriculum most of my students learned either Ada
  21. or PL/I as a first programming language.  Most of the transfer
  22. students in the class learned Pascal first.  I have one student
  23. (doctoral student in history of science!) who knows only
  24. Fortran and Basic.
