  13. I vaguely remember that I could do the following in Elvis 1.3 but now I 
  14. cannot do it in Elvis 1.6.  I would like to put the following line in my
  15. elvis.rc:

  17. map ^V^E :e#^V^M
  18.  
  19. where ^V denotes control-V (and is not really "visible")
  20.       ^E denotes control-E
  21.       ^M denotes control-M (or carriage return)
  22.  
  23. The problem is that when I try to edit elvis.rc using Elvis 1.6 the ^M 
  24. never gets saved.  BTW, I have already tried using the :mkexrc command.  
  25. Is this a bug or am I just missing something really trivial/obvious?
