- Hi,
- We have the following setup:
-
- Ring 101--PCRoute 2.24--IP only ring
- /
- /
- cisco1---64K---cisco2
- \
- \
- Ring 102--IBM Bridge program 2.2--Ring 103
-
-
- IBM bridge program 2.2
-
-
- Ring 104
-
- All works fine with just rings 101 and 102. They can talk to each other
- and to rings connected to cisco1. We cannot get the IBM bridge program
- to work between rings 102 and 103 or 104.
-
- A similar setup has worked before, BUT ring 102 was seperated from the
- cisco by an IP only router (PCRoute 2.24).
-
- I seem to remember seeing that there was (is?) a problem with ciscos and
- IBM bridge program bridges on the same ring. Did I? Is there a way I
- can work around this?
-
- Also, is there any way that turing on the bridge between rings 102 and 104
- can affect the IP traffic through the PCRoute machine connected to ring 101?
-
- My config is as follows:
-
- interface token-ring0
- ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- source-bridge 101 1 5
- source-bridge spanning
- multiring ip
-
- interface token-ring1
- ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- source-bridge 102 1 5
- source-bridge spanning
- multiring ip
-
- I don't think I need (or want|) the multiring ip. I have different subnets
- on each interface. What does it do? IP does not work without it|
-
- Any hints or suggestions appreciated,
- ---
