- I have just started using a 14.4 v.32 bis Zoom modem to communicate
- with the VAX at the College. I am communicating with the same modem
- on the other end. I am using Telix (latest version) on my PC at home.
- In transfering files from the VAX to my PC at home I use the kermit
- file transer protocol.
-
- My major problem is that file transfers are occuring at 140 cps.
- Secondarily, the screen display seems to be much faster then on a 2400
- BAUD terminal, but there are obvious delays after 4-6 lines have been
- displayed. I am connected via direct 9600 BAUd line to a terminal server
- at work and the display is smooth. I get a 400 cps transfer rate over
- my direct line at work.
-
- About 50% of the times I call the v.42 light on the front of the modem
- is not light, all of the other green status lights (14.4, v.32, dc, ec, fc)
- are light all the time.
-
- In Telix I defined the line as 57,xxx baud rate. I assume that I have
- to do some fine tuning in the Telix program. Can anyone help by suggesting
- which parameters that I should be looking at? What is a reasonable data
- transfer rate to expect with the Kermit protocol in Telix? Any help at
- all will be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
