: Hi, does any one have any idea which best FAX program available in the market ? How about WINFAX PRO ? Would any user of WINFAX PRO give any comment ?
: Is it able to read any Word processor file ? such as, WINWORD 2.0, WordPerfect
I recI recently tested a few different fax programs. All of them were
ently experimented with several different fax programs. All of
them for IBM PC compatibles and DOS. BitFax has the most drivers for
different printers and video cards, but its interface is clumsy. Also,
it did not always work with the faxmodem I used (a Digicom Scout+).
The next program I tried was Smith Microsoftware's Quicklink II. I did
not test it extensively, but from what I saw it appears to be a bit
clumsy, too. The fax connections I tried were a bit erratic, too. I
most likley need to do some more tests to figure out what is going on.
Finally I tested DosFax, which is now included with Scout+ modems which
I sell along with WinFax. It worked on all connections I tried, among
them faxing from California to Thailand, to Germany, across town to a
variety of fax machines known to be difficult. The downside is that
DosFax is rather slow in executing the commands. The interface is easy
and intuitive, though. I am not sure that upgrading to DosFax Pro does
much good. I prefer small simple programs without many features. You
can fax directly from within DOS applications by printing to 'capture'
and then pressing CNTRL SHIFT F (for faxing). Type in the name to whom
you want to fax and if its in the phonebook, off goes the fax. Delrina
tech support is supposed to be available, but I have given up on them.
The lines are too busy. I dont know how good the manual is, I did not
read it.
I think there is still an opportunity for a shareware fax program,
which does everything right: intuitive, fast even on slow machines and
