- Now that I have a modem (Supra) with all the trimmings (V.32bis, V.42,
- V.42bis, ...) I'm surprised that I'm still getting some errors during
- Zmodem downloads.
-
- I have noisy lines, to say the least. But...I thought the V.42
- protocol was supposed to notice transmission errors and negotiate for
- resends. Do I misunderstand its intent/operation?
-
- The front panel says: "14.4" (kpbs) "DC" (data compression == V.42bis)
- "CD" (carrier detect) "LP" (LAPM == V.42). I do not notice errors when
- using the modem interactively, as I did with my previous modem. Just
- for file transfers. Connections, transmission rate, etc all seem fine.
