  12. Here's a question I was asked last night and I had to admit that I just
  13. did not know.

  15. When two v.32 modems connect, occasionally (more often than not on long
  16. lines) the hissing and screeching will turn into a very distinct 'buzz'
  17. for a second or two.  I'm sure most of you have heard this.
  18.  
  19. Does anyone know what is happening when this occurs ??    A guess would
  20. be that it has something to do with the echo cancellation, since it seems
  21. to happen mostly with long-distance connections.
