  29. I just tested one of Cleo's boards (3270 SNA Remote Linkix) on 
  30. Microport SVR4.0.4.1 - it worked fine using a UDS v.32 modem. We
  31. had no problem talking to a mainframe.  I believe the UDS modem
  32. has a v.32 SDLC synchronous mode.  I tried using our Telebit T-2500, but
  33. had no success in talking to the mainframe.  I could make a connection
  34. using the async->synch v.32 mode (dials in asynch, then goes synch
  35. when connected) but couldn't get it to talk to the mainframe.  The
  36. SDLC protocol might work if you had another T-2500 on the other
  37. end - the T-2500 only has PEP mode SDLC !

  39. I think almost any operating system will work - the Cleo board takes
  40. care of the synchronous communications.  I think UDS modems are fairly
  41. popular the with big iron crowd.
