  23. It's not so much which will perform better, but if you'll be able to connect
  24. with V.32bis in the first place.  I've had very bad luck in getting V.32 or
  25. V.32 bis connections between so-called "Third World" countries (what a term...)
  26. and the U.S., but PEP practically almost works -- even though the effective
  27. throughput may be much lower than desired.

  29. Since you'll be doing uucp anyway, the combination of PEP and spoofing should
  30. do OK.
