- This is actually a smart move of Stacker. When it encounters a problem
- (mostly because of a computer crash or reset) which has damaged the
- harddisk partition stacker creates than it locks the partition
- to assure no (further) data loss. One can than just copy the files from
- the partition if one likes. Further damaging the files is than no

- Why did you not just use the suplied SCHECK program? Unlike PC-shell this
- program is Stacker aware and can recover much better than PC-shell could
- ever do. If SCHECK has completely recovered your harddisk partition
- than the write protect is removed and the drive can be used again.

- SuperStor 2.0 (not the one suplied with DR-DOS) and Stacker 2.0 seem to
- be of about equal quality. IMO the data integrity preservation of
- Stacker is a bit better. On the other hand the Stacker user interfaces
- are awfull. Compression, speed etc do not differ a lot.
