- Be aware that the data reblocking occurs on the 3480s (and the base
- model 3490s) only when IDRC is being used for the block written to
- tape. The 3490E models (often refered to as the 36 track models) will
- reblock the data independent of whether the data is being compressed
- using IDRC. I guess IBM found it easier to switch than fight all the
- applications out there using small blocksizes.
