- TCU provides off-campus modem access without distincting "classes"
- of users (i.e., faculty compete with students). We have 6800 students,
- about 350 faculty and 16 dial-in lines. There are also 5 dial-out
- lines for connection (particularly from on-campus) to other services.
- We STRONLYy discourage on-campus modems since our phone system is
- digital. So far this has been adequate but we, too, are constantly
- monitoring demand and are prepared to expand the bank of modems
- as the need arises. Our CWIS is still somewhat rudimentary so
- demands from non-TCU-related persons are minimal.
