  11. If your systems share the same mail database, you only need one delivery agent.
  12. If your systems *don't* share the same mail database, you can still get away
  13. with only one agent, with proper use of rewrite rules (but it's lot more
  14. complicated).

  16. Why are you running SMTP-over-DECnet?  You don't need that for delivery between
  17. the 2 VAXen.

  19. Your configuration should look like:

  21. DYMA    Base MX software, NETLIB, SMTP (UCX 1.3), Documentation
  22.         Network node name = dymaxion.ns.ca
  23.         All MX processes run on DYMA
  24.  
  25. DYME    Runs the MX startup script (which doesn't start any processes)

  27. If you want users on the 2 systems to have distinct addresses (dyma.dymaxion..
  28. and dyme.dymaxion...) then you'll have some work to do with logical names and
  29. rewrite rules.  But I wouldn't recommend it (that's what we're doing here--our
  30. systems do not share the mail database).
