- You might try checking the technical libraries for copies of teh ASM
- Metals Handbook set. Volume 5 of the 9th Edition or Volume 2 of the
- 8th edition deal with Cleaning , Finishing and Coating metals, and
- include a section on Porcelain Enameling. To quote "Porcelain enamels
- are glass coatings applied primarily to products made of sheet steel,
- cast iron, or aluminum, for improving appearance and protecting the
- metal surface. Porcelain enamels are distinguished from other ceramic
- coatings by their predominantly vitreous nature ..." It goes on to
- give frit compositions for enamels for various metals, methods of frit
- preparation, and general information about the industrial processes
- for enamelling.
