- Are you sure you mean 1969? In 1969 Granatelli ran cars with turbocharged
- Ford motors, Mario Andretti winning that race! Also turbines weren't banned
- until the 1971 race, but the downsizing of the allowable inlet area from
- 23 sq. in. (1967) to 15.999 sq. in. (1968) to 11.999 sq. in. (1969) really
- did them in.

- In 1967, Parnelli Jones was leading until 4 laps from the end of the race
- when a bearing gave out. In 1968, both Joe Leonard and Art Pollard fell out
- of the race with 9 laps and 12 laps to go respectively....both with broken
- fuel shafts!
