- Another reason might be that employers have a different perception.
- If they viewed foreign scientists as more cost effective (similar talent
- level, but demanding less pay) then it is very hard to compete. You simply
- have to be the best in the world at what you do, just to have good job prospects.
- If we consider people who leave their homelands for political reasons, or to
- escape severe economic hardship, then the local talent is likely to be much
- more expensive. It would be hard to verify/deny this as the argument that
- employers won't admit holding such unpopular views is valid.
