  14.  Check the intake manifold bolts and retorque if necessary. I got roped into 
  15. fixing up a neighbor's 305 Z-28 a while back and had to chase down a big-time
  16. oil burning/fouling problem. Turned out that the intake bolts were not even 
  17. 10 lb-ft tight. You could see bubbles coming out between the intake and the 
  18. head, and who knows what going in. There was oil being drawn in from the valley
  19. splash.
