  15. -> and Chryslers - I have *NEVER* seen this "unmachined gasket surface".

  17.  Fords and Chryslers machine the surface where the valve cover meets the
  18. head.  Chevrolet did not, at least until '86 when they went to the new
  19. cover design.  Just a plain old rough casting.
