- -> News to me. On *ALL* the chevies I've had apart - and Fords
- -> and Chryslers - I have *NEVER* seen this "unmachined gasket surface".

- Fords and Chryslers machine the surface where the valve cover meets the
- head. Chevrolet did not, at least until '86 when they went to the new
- cover design. Just a plain old rough casting.
