- I recently purchased a Sony CDP-321 (?) carousel CD player. I have
- heard mixed comments about using a cleaning disk for periodic cleaning
- of the laser lens. The salesman advised against them saying it is
- better to bring the unit in to have it cleaned. If the cleaner
- doesn't harm the lens (eg. scratch it), wouldn't it reduce the amount
- of potential buildup on the lens. If the cleaning kits are ok, which
- would be better -- the wet or dry systems. I have heard that wet
- systems which use alcohol as a cleaning fluid can cause deterioration
- of rubber parts in VCR's, tape decks, etc.. Is this true for CD
- players too?
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Chuck
