- But you're right about editing, it's easy to get carried away
- with some detail. I edit in several stages, starting with a hard copy. On
- first go, I edit structure and content. I find it much easier to refer back
- and forth through paper pages than a computer display. (You can make notes,
- too.) Then I get back on the computer and make the changes, using my zen
- discipline to ignore minor details. Then I slam the text through a spell
- checker and a style analyzer, read the report, and go on multiple-target search
- and destroy mission.

- I don't think I'll ever stop editing with hard copy first, but software is
- getting good at finding elementary mistakes, so I use that, too.
