  11. Pulphouse magazine has just closed to submissions until September 1993
  12. because their inventory is bulging. Effective tomorrow, all submissions
  13. get returned unopened for a year or so because they have 18 months of
  14. inventory hanging. The good side of this is that when they re-open
  15. submissions, they'll be paying on contract instead of on delivery of
  16. galleys.  This doesn't affect their other magazines. REPORT, TOMORROW
  17. SF (Ajay's new magazine) and MYSTERY STREET (which is about to be
  18. announced, but doesn't officially exist yet) are all reading.

  20. I read the galleys of the first issue of Tomorrow SF last week when I was up
  21. visiting Pulphouse, and it's an interesting magazine. If you're interested
  22. in Analog-type fiction, TSF is something you ought to take a look at.

  24. Also, Scott Edelman has told folks that the first issue of SF Age is at the
  25. printers, and that it got about 23,000 paid subscriptions prior to mailing
  26. the first issue, so the direct mailings were evidently quite effective, and
  27. it looks like it's in pretty good shape to be a success. Folks I've talked
  28. to who've seen the fiction are pretty impressed.
