- ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:
-
- Each year, over 6 billion animals are raised and slaughtered for human
- consumption in the United States. The majority of these animals are now
- raised in large-scale, intensive confinement systems, as the traditional
- family farm has given way to agribusiness corporations.
-
- - What have changes in agribusiness meant for the animals?
- - How has animal agriculture impacted the environment?
- - What effect has a meat-based diet had upon human health?
- - What does the future hold for farm animals and American
- agriculture?
-
- This conference will address these issues and seek to find answers which
- will benefit humans, animals, and the environment.
-
- CONFIRMED CONFERENCE SPEAKERS:
