- Hello! Listening to my short-wave radio n the last few weeks, I
- noticed a curious broadcast called "Radio Free America". It is
- apparently carried on WWCR (World Wide Christian Radio), but the
- content is not your average sermon.
- The general tone is outrage against the two mainstream U.S.
- political parties, against the Federal U.S. administration and
- most of its actions, foreign and domestic, and against the
- "international money elite" of bankers and multi-national
- corporations. "Radio Free America" seems to be FOR the
- "Sovereignty" program (a grass-roots initiative to rebuild U.S.
- infrastructure by interest-free loans to local and regional
- governments from the Federal Congress. Opposition to the current
- U.S. money and banking system, based on banks charging the
- government interest on its debt, is a closely related theme. The
- broadcast seems to be sponsored by Spotlight, described in the
- ads as "Your POPULIST Newspaper," and by something called "The
- Foundation for Economic Liberty". Does anybody know more details
- about this broadcasting outfit? Is this brand of "Populism" a
- genuine democratic alternative to mainstream media, or is it a
- front for a more sinister agenda?
-

- The _Spotlight_ is the newspaper organ of Liberty Lobby, related
- to the Institute for Historical Review, which claims the Holocaust
- never happened, all of which form some type of neo-Nazi organization.
-
- It is of grave concern to see these folks (evidently having learned
- from David Duke) how they can "capture" folks with "Populist" rhetoric
- (some of which may be accurate; some of which we might even agree with)
- since their Old Party Line, like David Duke's, they know will no longer
- "sell," at least not outside an extremely small % of Americans.
-
- This is distressing not only because they can recruit people this way,
- but also because this way they "discredit" the message, including some
- quite accurate points (e.g. the power-money who own this country
- running the show in our "democracy"), so that "next time" when people
- hear similar things from the left/progressives, they will be so
- weary it will be much harder to get them to even listen.
-
- To the poster: please don't "feel dumb" as I know personally how
- reasonable these folks can decide to sound. In fact I read the first
- portion of your post with great expectation, given what was quoted
- about what the broadcasts were about, and were it not for my having
- come across these tactics before, and having heard of the _Spotlight_,
- I would have had little or nothing to cause warning light to go off...
