- I have been running OpenWindows on a Sun ELC, and the performance is
- horrific, especially when using olvwm. I decided to switch back to
- plain X11, but using what's already there in the OpenWin installation.
- In other words, I want to run the X11 subset of the OpenWin
- installation by replacing the slow xnews server by the fast Xsun
- server. I got an Xsun binary and am able to start up X under twm, but
- as soon as I start any xview-based program, I get the following
- messages:
-
- XView warning: Cannot load font '-b&h-lucida-medium-r-*-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*' (Font package)
- XView warning: Cannot load font '-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*' (Font package)
- XView error: Cannot open connection to window server: :0.0 (Server package)
-
- I understand the font-related messages, but not the one related to the
- server. Moreover, when I quit twm and try to start ol(v)wm, I get a
- segmentation fault.
-
- Is there anything I'm missing, extra environment variables or so? Any
- suggestions would be appreciated.
