- It's one thing to rely on SCO and another to rely on SCO Magazine.

- In one of the first issues of SCO Magazine there was mention, either in
- an article or a letter, that a way to speed the system up was to turn
- the power-off and let fsck clean the system on boot up.

- I don't consider this to be reliable information. All that is
- happening this way is to re-org the freelist, which can be done with an
- fsck -s. The power off way could lose data.

- With things like that in mind I read the SCO Magazine very carefully to
- see if the response is a proper one or not.

- If the vendor says it, you have a better chance of getting proper
- information than from a secondary source (most of the time :-) ).
