- I am unable to boot {dist, fixit}.fs in any of the varieties
- outhere. The boot process begins, I can see some output about
- the different devices and a message about the root partition.
- What follows next, is to fast for me to read. Something about
- vm fault, then something about RAM and the machine reboots.
- It continues this cycle forever.
- I remember seeing some discussion about such a problem in the
- first days 0.1 was out. Unfortunately, I did not save those
- articles.
- The machine configuration: (Gateway 2000)
- 486/33
- 8 Mb RAM, external cache
- 200 Mb IDE drive
- floppy drives
- SpeedStar+, 1M on board
-
- I have already disabled all external/internal cache, BIOS relocate
- and slowed the machine down.
-
-
- I would very much appreciate any hints/help.
