  12. I am unable to boot {dist, fixit}.fs in any of the varieties
  13. outhere. The boot process begins, I can see some output about
  14. the different devices and a message about the root partition.
  15. What follows next, is to fast for me to read. Something about
  16. vm fault, then something about RAM and the machine reboots.
  17. It continues this cycle forever.
  18. I remember seeing some discussion about such a problem in the
  19. first days 0.1 was out. Unfortunately, I did not save those
  20. articles.
  21. The machine configuration: (Gateway 2000)
  22.     486/33
  23.     8 Mb RAM, external cache
  24.     200 Mb IDE drive
  25.     floppy drives
  26.     SpeedStar+, 1M on board
  27.  
  28. I have already disabled all external/internal cache, BIOS relocate
  29. and slowed the machine down.
