  11. I bought A/UX 3.0, and while it comes with 1 year's "free" telephone
  12. support, I've found them to be largely useless.  I called them about 2
  13. problems.

  15. The first is an annoying bug in the Apple CD-150 and/or SCSI driver,
  16. which appears to be attempting to write to the CD-ROM drive when a CD is
  17. re-inserted.  The first time a CD is inserted, it works fine.  The 2nd
  18. time, I get a console message about a SCSI error when the stupid driver
  19. appears to be trying to write on the CD-ROM.  They told me that there's
  20. nothing that it's a ROM problem in the CD-150 and it's just something to
  21. live with.

  23. The second problem is still getting the SFGetFile() and SFPutFile() Mac
  24. toolbox calls to work from the A/UX environment.  I tried everything,
  25. and my sample program compiles and runs fine under MPW, Think C, and
  26. A/UX 2.0.1.  However, it always crashes under A/UX 3.0.  It's very
  27. likely that I'm doing something wrong, but nothing I've tried works.

  29. Apple support told me that they don't support technical stuff and I'd
  30. have to purchase developer support to get any help for this problem.  So
  31. much for the 1 year's "free" support.  (I guess that there are folk who
  32. buy A/UX for something other than software development, but I can't
  33. imagine why since they would be better off under plain Sys7 anyway.)
