- Exactly what do you mean here? The *hardware* causes problems, or the
- *software* does -- which one? (I assume you have tried using the display
- system without the evil little Extensions and Control Panels it probably
- came with....)

- I have an E-MACHINES Z21-IQ (21" mono) monitor on my SE/30 which works fine
- with A/UX 3.0, if by fine I mean that I am willing to accept that I have to
- change the display card's startup resolution when booted from MacOS and not
- expect to change resolution on the fly under A/UX.... Although hearing
- about this mono system may not interest you much, I fully expect the other
- (color) boards to work this way too. I will let you all know what I find,
- as two ColorPage T-16 II monitors, a ColorLink DC/T card, and a Futura LX
- card should be showing up any day now (I hope today!). I expect both
- monitors to work with A/UX without their Control Panel software (and thus
- the neat resolution-switching features). I expect the ethernet interface
- of the DC/T card *not* to work with A/UX. (But then the machine that card
- is going into is not going to be an A/UX machine anyway -- but I am still
- interested in knowing exactly what the compatibility issues are....) In
- fact, I believe that my understanding of the functionality of the
- E-MACHINES cards (well, the Futura series anyway) was confirmed my
- E-MACHINES before I ordered them....
-
- I am anxious to hear more on this, and I will let you all know anything I
- find out.... If in fact I can't use my new monitor and card with A/UX I am
- not sure what I will do. I can either return the monitor and card as not
- having the functionality that I was told they would have or not get A/UX
- for the new machine here at work. I am tempted to be done with all this
- foolishness by simply getting MachTen instead....
