  14.   I can't get A/UX 3.0 to install with my NEC CDR-73M
  15. (same as CDR-74) CDROM drive. After some superficial
  16. research, I heard the following:

  18.   1. Apple support center: "All of the Macintosh-compatible CDROM drives
  19.      will install A/UX 3.0 except NEC's. We are still trying to
  20.      find out why."

  22.   2. Apple technical person: "We know which CDROM drives work with
  23.      A/UX but we don't want any lists floating around because
  24.      the vendor may eventually get their CDROM to work with A/UX. 
  25.      We only officially endorse the Apple CDROM drive (Sony mechanism).

  27.   3. Friendly net person: "NEC drives still don't
  28.      comply with the Mode Select when it says to speak only in 512 byte 
  29.      blocks thereafter until reset....it's NEC's fault."
