- Hello,
-
- I just got A/UX 3.0 and have been trying to decide if I can install
- it on my venerable MacII. I have a Daystar 40 mhz "PowerCard" installed
- to add a little zip to the old guy.
-
- I just called DayStar and they say that they no longer
- manufacture/support the PowerCard! Their latest product is the
- "PowerCache" and they do not know if the old A/UX 2.01 PowerCard
- drivers will work under A/UX 3.0. They recommend scrapping the
- PowerCard and buying a PowerCache (bummer...) for which they have
- A/UX drivers.
-
- Question1: Does anybody know if the A/UX 2.0 PowerCard driver works
- under A/UX 3.0?
-
- Question2: Does anybody have any comments about the suitability/performance
- of the 520 Fujitsu vs the 535 Maxtor HD's (One salesperson says that
- Fujitsu is "noisy" (45 db @1 ft) but the Maxtor is (25 db @ 1ft))?
-
- Question3: The Chip Merchant has 4meg simms with PAL for the MacII
- at $109.00, is this a "best buy"?
