-
- Small installation: 100 MB, requested: 200, best: 500 MB
-
- |> 2) what are the benefits over using the standard amidos (v2.04)
-
- There are none in my knowledge.
-
- |> 3) is it based on the mach kernal?
-
- No. Complete NEW SVR4 release. No MACH at all.
-
- |> 4) what kind of performance can I get expect of it?
-
- Compare it with a Sun 3/80 , 486/25 or Small Workstation. Not usefull
- as Server.
-
- |> 5) how much ram do I *need* ?
-
- 4 MB RAM, but the swapping will kill you.
-
- |> 6) how much ram is recomended?
-
- 8 MB, but 16 or 32 MB are far better.
-
- |> 7) how compatable is it?
-
- It's the best SVR4 port ever. Compatible ? Well, all sources can be compiled
- in a way...
-
- Short questions, short answers...
-
- You need a System with RDB support of your SCSI (or whatever) drive,
- a 020/030 System WITH MMU. For the X11 System the Tiga Card is usefull.
- So, an A2000 with A2620 or A2630 (== A2500) with the A2091 SCSI or an A3000
- will run Amix.
-
- The Mach-Port for Amiga is not yet ready, there are 2 different projects on it.
- BSD-Port has even not yet started, Matt Dillon is too busy with commercial
- stuff.
-
- Greets, Markus.
- PS. I post it, due to the follow-up i read after this one.
