  10. I need some help getting slip to work properly.  First the setup:

  12. Server:  RS6000. I set the port to 38400.  I am using a ViVa 9600 baud modem
  13.      V.32/V.42/V.42bis  (Made by Computer Peripherals, Inc.)
  14.  
  15. Client:  Wollongong TCP/IP.  I am using the slip driver.  This one also has
  16.      a ViVa 9600 baud modem.
  17.  
  18. And now the problem:  When I telnet from the client to the server everything 
  19.               works fine.  I can ping the server, ftp, and telnet.
  20.  
  21.               But when I telnet to the machine I get a slight delay
  22.               between when I type a character and when it shows up 
  23.               on the screen.  This is very annoying (sp??).  
  24.  
  25.                       If I connect the two machines with a direct serial cable,
  26.               I don't have this problem.  So it looks like to has
  27.               to be something with the modems.  But what???
  28.  
  29. Any one have an experience with a setup like this?  Any insight would greatly 
  30. be appreciated.
