- I've recently had something very STRANGE happen to my 950
- while using it as a NFS server. I mount a disk from my 950
- running AIX 3.2 on a Sun 630. This disk contains a LARGE
- amount of source code, during a build on the Sun I noticed
- a large amount of RPC not responding errors, and finally I
- started getting NFS write errors, at this point NFS appeared
- hung.. Well, I unmounted the disk from the sun, and tried
- to remount it, but it appeared screwed up, So I took a look
- at the file system on the 950. The file system is /usr/iefsrc,
- which is its own VG:
-
- block on ief% df
- Filesystem Total KB free %used iused %iused Mounted on
- ....
- /dev/lvtool 2048000 1185408 42% 96425 18% /usr/iefsrc
- ....
-
- all the files under /usr/iefsrc appeared to be there (this level
- only contains directorys) but when I changed into any directory
- and did a ls I received a . not found error. This occurred for
- all of the directorys under the mount point. At this point I
- had to bring the machine down to maintenance mode, run fsck and
- then I rebooted just to make sure, and then everything was
- fine.
-
- Has anybody seen this kind of strangeness before???
-
- Also after the reboot I found some file with 0 size, on other
- file systems (I was using xv *.gif, and after the reboot all
- of the gif files had 0 size ????)
-
- Thanks,
