  32. I found long ago that "something" talks to the modem port at the
  33. default speed set in ODM which comes out of the box at 9600.  This has
  34. the unfortunate habit of setting your tty-to-modem speed on hayes
  35. compatible modems.  You have to edit ODM to change it.  This got me
  36. running at 38400.  I never did find out who was talking to the modem,
  37. but it almost has to be getty.  I would guess that when it first sets
  38. up the tty port it uses the default from ODM before checking custom
  39. settings set up by SMIT.
