- I found long ago that "something" talks to the modem port at the
- default speed set in ODM which comes out of the box at 9600. This has
- the unfortunate habit of setting your tty-to-modem speed on hayes
- compatible modems. You have to edit ODM to change it. This got me
- running at 38400. I never did find out who was talking to the modem,
- but it almost has to be getty. I would guess that when it first sets
- up the tty port it uses the default from ODM before checking custom
- settings set up by SMIT.
