- #Sun4 X11R5 xdvi patchlevel 15 gives nothing but trouble when
- #displayed on an X11R3 RS/6000 model 730.
- #All character are shown in reverse video. Its not the -rv option, since
- #the paper itself is white, as it should be. The characters are drawn as
- #a white symbol on a small black square.
- #'xdvi -fg red' Gives me a black-and-white image, but the above problem
- #has gone. The characters turn red if I zoom or Shrink1.
-
- After taking a closer look at the displayed image, it seems that it's
- not a truely b&w one, but the characters are drawn a little greyish.
- (But this is the default behaviour, isn't it?)
-
- #'xdvi -fg black' Gives the reverse video characters.
- #'xdvi -fg gray10' Gives me outline (!) characters (which they shouldn't be).
-
- After reading the man pages again, and trying some more options, I found
- that all above problems are solved if I 'xdvi -nogrey'.
- However, another option, '-thorough' made 'xdvi -thorough -fg red' act
- just as bad as plain 'xdvi' without '-nogrey'
- BTW. On a Sun4 displayed, 'xdvi -thorough -fg red' also does not produce
- the correct image: it has black characters instead of red ones, unless I
- zoom/Shrink1.
-
- #'xdvi -fg white' Results in a Segmentation fault.
-
- This still happens, even on a Sun4, no matter what I try.
- It appears that xdvi always produces a "Segmentation fault" if the
- foreground (-fg) and background (-bg) colour are one and the same.
