- We have been thinking about the merits of using a 'workstation'
- server versus a 'desk side' server. I would like to solicit
- any opinions and facts about this. The new SCSI 1.3 GB disks
- seem to be about as fast as the IPIs. The CPUs are basically
- identical. The bus is different though (VME for the desk side
- and Sbus for the workstations).
-
- Our purpose would be purely as a disk server. We currently
- use 470 with IPI disks, Network coprocessors, and prestoserve.
- Any comparisons of this against a SS2 or a SS10?
- Thanks.
