- I have installed a third Sun ethernet card in our Sun 3/160.
-
- In testing this new ethernet card, I first installed it in place of the ie1 card
- (with the addresses appropriately set) and it worked just fine. This leads me
- to think that it may just be some kind of hardware configuration mistake on my
- part in its new functioning as ie2.
-
- When all three cards are in place, the new kernel has no trouble finding the
- third card, and the machine boots up correctly, i.e., the original two activated
- interfaces (ie0 and ie1) work normally. Here is a portion of the boot sequence
- printout:

- I purposely left the ifconfig call to the new interface out of the rc.boot
- script so that I could call it by hand. When I did it as follows, the machine
- crashed. I include the entire crash message below. My question is, what does
- this crash represent? Is it a hardware problem? What is the best way to
- proceed from this point?
-
- Thank you in advance.
