- There seems to be some confusion here -

- Generally speaking:
- SPARC - means the processor architecture
- Sun4 - means a system architecture based on SPARC processors.
- There are many SPARC implementations and all of them are used
- on machines based on the Sun4 (atleast from Sun) system
- architecture.
- Sun4c, Sun4m and any Sun<x> are variations of the base Sun4
- architecture. All of them differ only in system architecture and
- thus how the kernel is built and run on these.

- From an application viewpoint - any SPARC binary will run on any Sun4<x>
- based kernel/system.
