  10. I have a tar tape which was written on a Silicon Graphics system.  I need
  11. to untar it on my Sparc 2.  When I try just a normal tar, I get a directory
  12. checksum error.  I have seen this problem before.  It has to do with SGI
  13. writing its integers with the byte order different than the Sun.  When
  14. I last ran into this error, someone a bit more knowledgeable in UNIX than
  15. I ran tar through a filter to unscramble the byte order.  I have no idea
  16. what utility he used however.  If anyone knows the magic words that I
  17. need to execute to read this tar tape, I would greatly appreciate the
  18. help!
