- Use the lwsrv part of CAP. CAP implements AppleTalk for Unix, and the lwsrv
- program will register a printer on the AppleTalk network, and feed print jobs
- directed to it to a Unix printer. Takes a bit of fiddling to configure it, but the
- doco's all there.
-
- I set it up to feed those jobs to our SPARCprinter (NewsPrint 1.0, but I don't
- anticipate any problems with v2.0). Works quite transparently.
-
- CAP has lots of other neat tricks too - AppleShare server, printing from UNIX to
- AppleTalk printers, etc.
-
- Note that you need a LocalTalk to EtherTalk gateway if you're not already on
- Ethernet (Apple's Internet Router, or a Multiport Gateway).
